The World Snooker Championship is the most prestigious event in professional Snooker, first held in 1927 and played at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. The World Championship forms Snooker’s Triple Crown – the sport’s longest serving events alongside the Masters (first held in 1975) and the UK Championship (first held in 1977). Player’s compete on the World Snooker Tour, a series of events held across the year across the world.
