The ICC T20 World Cup is an international cricket competition for the Twenty20 format of the game. First held in 2007, there have been 6 editions of the competition so far.
The last competition was held in India in 2016, with the West Indies defeating England in the final by 4 wickets.
When is the T20 World Cup?
The ICC T20 World Cup was generally held every 2 years, however with the last competition last held in 2016 there will of been a 4 year gap.
The next ICC T20 World Cup was set to take place between the 18th October and 15th November 2020 but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It will now take place across October/November 2021 with the Final on the 14th November 2021.
Where is the T20 World Cup?
The 2021 ICC T20 World Cup will be held in India, the second time they have hosted the tournament after they held the last event in 2016. It has yet to be confirmed which venues will be used.
The 2020 ICC T20 World Cup was due be hosted by Australia for the first time at the below venues. However following the postponement of the event Australia will now host the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup.

- Sydney – Sydney Cricket Ground (Capacity – 46,000)
Who is competing in the T20 World Cup?
There are 16 teams due to compete in the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup. iNDIA have qualified as hosts, with the 9 best teams as of 31st December 2018 in the ICC T20I Championships (who also played in the last edition of the World Twenty20) also set to compete: Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies.
The remaining 6 places were decided by the 2019 T20 World Cup Qualifier held in the UAE with the following nations qualifying: Ireland, Namibia, Netherlands, Oman, Papua New Guinea and Scotland.

Where and when is the next T20 World Cup?
Following the 2021 edition, the next ICC T20 World Cup is set to be held in Australia or India in October/November 2022 as a replacement for the now scrapped ICC Champions Trophy.
