Autumn Internationals (End-of-year Internationals)

The Autumn Internationals as they are known in the Northern Hemisphere, or End-of-year Internationals as they are known in the Southern Hemisphere are a series of international rugby union test matches that are played in October and November.

The matches are usually hosted by Northern Hemisphere nations against touring Southern Hemisphere teams, with the reverse occurring during the Summer Internationals. Typically Autumn Internationals do not take place during a Rugby World Cup year.

2022 Autumn Internationals

The 2022 Autumn Internationals are the final chance for Northern and Southern Hemisphere teams to face each other ahead of the 2023 Rugby World Cup. As of December 2021, the only confirmed Autumn Internationals are for England – who face two of their World Cup group opponents, Argentina and Japan before facing New Zealand for the first time since the 2019 Rugby World Cup semi-final and then world champions South Africa.
