Background

The Mercedes-Benz Stadium is a brand new stadium in the city of Atlanta to replace the former Georgia Dome.

Home to the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL, as well as Atlanta United FC in Major League Soccer (MLS), the stadium hosted Super Bowl LIII on the 3rd February 2019.

The stadium will also annually host the NCAA’s Peach Bowl (one of the six College Football Playoff bowls) in late December/early January, the Celebration Bowl (postseason game between the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) champion and the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) champion) in mid-December and the Chick-fil-A-Kickoff Game (opening weekend of college football) in September.

The stadium was constructed at a cost of $1.6 billion and is one of the most technologically advanced in the world, with a retractable roof being its main focal point.
