2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup (Basketball)

25th August – 10th September 2023 Indonesia, Japan & Philippines

Philippine Arena

The 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup will be the 19th edition of the tournament but the first to be hosted by multiple nations. Five venues in five cities will be used across Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines – the Indonesia Arena in Jakarta (Indonesia), Okinawa Arena in Okinawa City (Japan), Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City (Philippines), the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay (Philippines) and the world’s largest arena, the 55,000 capacity Philippine Arena in Bocaue. This will be the first World Cup held in Indonesia but the second for both Japan (2006) and the Philippines (1978) and will also be the second of three-straight World Cups to be held in Asia – with 2019 being hosted in China and 2027 to be held in Qatar.

The tournament held every four years will feature 32 teams, with co-hosts the Philippines and Japan automatically qualifying, whilst FIBA sought for Indonesia to be a more competitive side and no automatic qualification place was offered to them. Unfortunately they failed to qualify and became the first ever hosts not to take part in the World Cup. Spain will be the defending champions, having beat Argentina 95-75 in the Final in 2019 at Wukesong Arena in Beijing.

Tickets for all matches are available to purchase through the official website here.
