2023 NBA Finals (Basketball)

1st-18th June 2023 – Ball Arena (Denver, Colorado, USA) & Kaseya Center (Miami, Florida, USA)

The 2023 NBA Finals will see Eastern Conference champion Miami Heat face Western Conference champion Denver Nuggets in the best-of-seven playoffs. Starting on the 1st June, there will be matches on the 4th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 15th and 18th.

The Heat barely qualified for the play-offs, finishing 7th in the regular season and facing two play-in games before defeating the Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks and Boston Celtics. The Nuggets meanwhile finished as top seed for the first time in the Western Conference before beating the Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers.

2023 FA Cup Final (Football)

3rd June 2023 – Wembley Stadium (LondonEngland)

The 142nd FA Cup Final will mark the first time the Manchester derby has been contested in a cup final, as Premier League champions Manchester City face EFL Cup winners, Manchester United. Manchester City are also seeking the continental treble, the first since Manchester United did so in 1999 as they play in the UEFA Champions League Final a week later (see below). The match will also mark the 100th anniversary of the first FA Cup Final to be played at the original Wembley Stadium.

Tickets

Tickets will only be available to purchase through the club’s of those participating in the Final, with 30,500 tickets distributed to each club. Tickets range from £45 for Category 4 to £250 for Level 2.

Travel

The two busiest airports in the UK serve London and between them have flights to most of the world’s prime destinations – Heathrow Airport is 20 miles west of Wembley, with Gatwick Airport approximately 60 miles south of the stadium. 2023 Stanley Cup Finals (Ice Hockey)

3rd-19th June 2023 – T-Mobile Arena (Las Vegas, Nevada, USA) & FLA Live Arena (Sunrise, Florida, USA)

The Eastern Conference champions the Florida Panthers will face the Western Conference champions, the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2023 Stanley Cup Finals. Neither team have previously won the Stanley Cup and the best-of-seven playoff matches will take place on the 3rd, 5th, 8th, 10th, 13th, 16th and 19th.

The Panthers finished as eighth seed in the Eastern Conference with the lowest point total of any playoff team before mounting a 3-1 comeback against the Boston Bruins and defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs and Carolina Hurricanes. The Golden Knights meanwhile finished first in the Western Conference before defeating the Winnipeg Jets, Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars.

Harry Reid International Airport is the busiest airport in the state of Nevada, with flights across the country as well as internationally and is 5 miles south of downtown Las Vegas.

2023 ICC World Test Championship Final (Cricket)

7th-11th June 2023 – The Oval (LondonEngland)

The second edition of the ICC World Test Championship Final will see Australia take on India at The Oval in LondonEngland. The teams finished as the top two in the league stage run between 2021 and 2023, which finished in March as India had defeated 2-1 in a home series to Australia. India had contested the previous ICC World Test Championship Final in 2021, losing by 8 wickets to New Zealand at the Rose Bowl in Southampton.

2023 UEFA Champions League Final (Football)

10th June 2023 – Atatürk Olympic Stadium (Istanbul, Turkey)

The 68th staging of the UEFA Champions League Final will see Premier League champions Manchester City face Italian club Inter Milan, as they bid to win the continental treble (see FA Cup Final above). The match will be played at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Turkey, after it was due to host the 2020 and then 2021 UEFA Champions League Final, however these both were moved to Portugal due to the Coronavirus pandemic. City are in the Final for the second time (losing 1-0 to Chelsea in 2021) whilst Inter are three time winners (1964, 1965 and 2010).

2023 24 Hours of Le Mans (Motorsport)

10th-11th June 2023 – Circuit de la Sarthe (Le Mans, France)

The 100th anniversary of the first 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1923, the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans takes place across the weekend of the 10th and 11th June at the Circuit de la Sarthe. Serving also as the fourth round of the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship, the 2022 winners were the Toyota Gazoo Racing team of Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryō Hirakawa who led for 274 of the race’s 380 laps and finished two minutes and 1.222 seconds ahead of their Toyota teammates.

The closest international airport can be found at Tours Val de Loire Airport which is approximately an hour from Le Mans and has direct flights to London Stansted, Dublin, Porto and Marrakech.

2023 UEFA Nations League Finals (Football)

14th-18th June 2023 – Rotterdam & Enschede (The Netherlands)

The 2023 UEFA Nations Final will be the third season of the European competition for national teams. Hosts the Netherlands will be joined by Croatia, Spain and Italy who all qualified as the four group winners of League A, with none of the teams previous winners (Portugal in 2019 and France in 2021). The Netherlands will face Croatia in the first semi-final at De Kuip in Rotterdam on the 14th June before Spain take on Italy at De Grolsch Veste in Enschede on the 15th, with the Final to be contested in the Rotterdam venue on the 18th.

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is the main international airport of the Netherlands and the third busiest airport in Europe. The airport is the hub for KLM, as well as several low-cost carriers. Therefore Schiphol is extremely well connected with flights across much of Europe as well as many destinations across Asia, North America and South America. Schiphol Airport has a major railway station underneath the passenger terminal, with trains running frequently to Rotterdam in about 25 minutes or Enschede in 2 hours.

Alternatively Rotterdam The Hague Airport is located approximately 6 kilometres north of Rotterdam, mainly offering low-cost carrier flights across Europe.

2023 U.S. Open (Golf)

The 123rd U.S. Open is due to take place at the Los Angeles Country Club, the first time the course has hosted the event. 2023 European Games

21st June – 2nd July 2023 Kraków (Poland)

The European Games is a multi-sport event, similar to the Olympic Games but only open to athletes from European nations. The 2023 European Games will be the third staging of the event and is to be held in the Polish city of Kraków. The main venue will be the Stadion Miejski which will host both the Opening and Closing ceremonies, as well as the Rugby 7s events. Athletics is normally the biggest event at multi-sports and is due to be held at Stadion Śląski in Chorzów, 90 kilometres away.

2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup (Football)

24th June – 16th July 2023 – Canada & USA

The 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup is the 17th staging of the biennial football championship for North, Central American and Caribbean region national teams. Canada and the United States will host the tournament across 15 different venues, mostly in the latter with just BMO Field in Toronto being Canada’s sole venue. The United States are the defending champions after defeating Mexico in the 2021 Final. Both return in 2023 alongside 14 other nations, which include 2022 FIFA World Cup hosts Qatar who were an invited guest.
