State Farm Stadium

State Farm Stadium is the home of the NFL side, the Arizona Cardinals. The stadium opened in 2006, with the Cardinals moving to their own home after playing at the Sun Devil Stadium, the Arizona State University football stadium since 1987. The stadium has hosted the annual Fiesta Bowl college football game since 2007.

The stadium has a capacity of 63,400 which is expandable to 72,200 for big events and features a retractable roof. Originally known as the University of Phoenix Stadium in a name rights deal that was signed for 20 years, the University cancelled the deal in 2017 due to financial difficulties. The State Farm insurance group picked up the rights through to 2036.

The University of Phoenix Stadium hosted Super Bowl XLII in 2008 with the New York Giants defeating the the New England Patriots 17-14. The stadium also hosted Super Bowl XLIX in 2015 with the New England Patriots this time victorious, defeating the Seattle Seahawks 28-24 as well as the 2015 Pro Bowl. The event will return for a third time in 2023 for Super Bowl LVII.

College football events held at State Farm Stadium include the 2007 and 2011 BCS National Championship Games and the College Football Playoff National Championship. The NCAA Final Four basketball tournament was also held there and will return in 2024.

State Farm Stadium has also hosted football (soccer) matches at both the 2015 and 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup, as well as the Copa América Centenario in 2016.

In 2022, Arizona Cardinals tickets ranged from $42.25 to $399.75 for ‘Prime Games’ (LA Rams, New Orleans, Seattle, LA Chargers), $61 to $549.75 for ‘Premium Games’ (Kansas City and Philadelphia) and $89 to $774.75 for ‘Marquee Games’ (New England and Tampa Bay). State Farm Stadium Tour

Tours of the State Farm Stadium take place at 10:30am, 12:30pm and 2:30pm on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and the Monday following a home game for the Arizona Cardinals. The stadium is located in the city of Glendale, approximately 9 miles northwest of Downtown Phoenix in the state of of Arizona in the Southwestern United States.

Airport – Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is the largest airport in the state of Arizona, with flights across the country as well as internationally to Canada, Mexico and London in the United Kingdom. The airport is 3 miles east of downtown Phoenix or around 20 miles away from the stadium.

Driving & Parking – If travelling from the North, exit the AZ Loop 101 at Bethany Home Road / Cardinals Way and make a right off the exit. If travelling from the South, exit the AZ Loop 101 at Glendale Avenue, turn the first left onto 99th Avenue and then a left onto Maryland Avenue and continue over the bridge. There are over 24,000 parking spaces at the stadium with zoning for preferred leaving directions. Ticket is available to purchase through the Cardinals’ ticketing supplier here.
