Eco-Power Stadium (Doncaster)

Eco-Power Stadium

The Eco-Power Stadium (formerly known as the Keepmoat Stadium between 2006 and 2021) is the home ground of Doncaster Rovers Football Club and Doncaster Rugby League Football Club.

The ground has a capacity of 15,231 and officially opened in 2007 to replace Doncaster Rovers’ home of 84 years, Belle Vue. The first match to be played at the stadium was on the 28th December 2006 as Doncaster RLFC lost 16-10 to the Sheffield Eagles in the South Yorkshire Cup game. The first football match was several days later on New Years Day 2007 as Doncaster Rovers defeated Huddersfield Town 3-0 in a Football League One fixture. The stadium wasn’t officially opened until the 3rd August 2007 with a friendly between Rovers and a Manchester United XI.

A record attendance of 15,001 watched a game between Doncaster Rovers and Yorkshire rivals Leeds United in April 2008. In 2010, England Under 21s played a matched against Greece at the stadium. The Final of the 2013 FA Women’s Cup took place at the Keepmoat, with Arsenal defeating Bristol Academy 3-0. Harrogate Town played several of their ‘home’ matches at the Keepmoat at the start of the 2020-2021 season following their promotion to EFL League Two, whilst their artificial pitch at Wetherby Road was replaced with grass due to EFL rules. England Women defeated Latvia at the stadium by a record score of 20-0 in November 2021.

Several Rugby League Challenge Cup semi-finals have been played at the stadium, as well as as one international test match in 2009 in which England defeated France 34-12. Three group matches of the 2021 Rugby League World Cup were also played at the Eco-Power Stadium featuring France v Greece, Samoa v Greece and Papua New Guinea v Wales.
