The New York Stadium (currently known as the AESSEAL New York Stadium for sponsorship reasons) is the home ground of Rotherham United. The stadium opened in 2012 and currently has a capacity of 12,021. Rotherham left their former of 83 years, Millmoor in 2008 following a dispute with the ground’s owner.
The first match in the new stadium was a pre-season friendly between Rotherham and Barnsley on the 21st July 2012, with the Millers winning 2-1. It was named New York after the area of land in which it is built.
England have played several international youth matches in the stadium, as well as several women’s internationals. The stadium will host three group matches at the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 featuring Belgium, France, Iceland and Italy as well as a quarter-final.
