The New York Stadium (currently known as theĀ AESSEAL New York Stadium for sponsorship reasons) is the home ground of Rotherham United. The stadium opened in 2012 and currently has a capacity of 12,021. Rotherham left their former of 83 years, Millmoor in 2008 following a dispute with the ground’s owner.
The first match in the new stadium was a pre-season friendly between Rotherham and Barnsley on the 21st July 2012, with the Millers winning 2-1. It was named New York after the area of land in which it is built.
England have played several international youth matches in the stadium, as well as several women’s internationals. The stadium will host three group matches at the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 featuring Belgium, France, Iceland and Italy as well as a quarter-final.

Rotherham United tickets are available to purchase online, at the ticket office (Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and Saturdays 9am – 1pm/30 minutes after kick-off on match days) or over the phone 01709 827768. During the 2021/2022 season, Rotherham had two categories of tickets depending on the opposition, with prices ranging from:
- Adults – Ā£25-Ā£27 (Platinum)/Ā£23-Ā£25 (Non-Platinum)
- Concessions (Over 65s & 17-20) – Ā£15-Ā£17 (Platinum)/Ā£13-Ā£15 (Non-Platinum)
- 13-17 – Ā£9-Ā£10 (Platinum)/Ā£8-Ā£9 (Non-Platinum)
- 8-12 – Ā£7-Ā£8 (Platinum)/Ā£6-Ā£7 (Non-Platinum)

Location & Travel to New York Stadium
The New York Stadium is located just half a mile to the south of the centre of Rotherham in South Yorkshire.
Airport: The closest international airport is Doncaster Sheffield Airport, approximately 18 miles from Rotherham. The airport mainly serves holiday destinations across the Mediterranean and cities across Eastern Europe. Catch the X78 bus to Doncaster Interchange and connect on to the 57a or 57c to reach the airport.
Alternatively, East Midlands Airport is within an hour’s drive whilst there are direct trains to the larger Manchester Airport every hour via Sheffield.

Driving & Parking: If travelling from the south exit the M1 motorway at junction 33 and follow the A630. From the north, leave the M1 at junction 35 and follow the A629. There is no car parking available at the stadium on matchdays, with parking available at NCP Car Park in the town centre, a pay and display car park located on Sheffield Road or Forge Island car park across from the stadium.
Train: Rotherham Central Station is the only train station in the town and is just a 10 minute walk from the stadium. The station has frequent services to Sheffield, Leeds and Doncaster with most other major cities connected via Sheffield.
Tram: Rotherham Central is on the Tram-train line of the Sheffield Supertram, approximately 10 minutes walk from the stadium with a journey time from Sheffield of 20 minutes and running three times an hour.
