Penrith Stadium

The Penrith Stadium (currently known as the BlueBet Stadium for sponsorship reasons) has been the home of the NRL team, the Penrith Panthers since it opened in 1967. The stadium initially featured only one stand on the western side with a stand built on the eastern side in the 1980s. A further renovation occurred in 2006 and today the stadium has a capacity of 22,500 with seating for 8,000 in the grandstand.

The stadium has hosted several Rugby League international test matches including two games at the 2008 Rugby League World Cup, both featuring Samoa. The Penrith Stadium has also hosted football, with the Australia women’s team facing Brazil in a friendly in 2017 (winning 2-1) and Chile in 2018 (losing 3-2).

Location & Travel to Penrith Stadium

The Penrith Stadium is located just south of the city of Penrith, in Greater Western Sydney and approximately 55 kilometres west of Sydney’s CBD.

Airport – Kingsford Smith Airport in Sydney serves many international and domestic destinations. You can travel from Sydney to Penrith by train (see below).

Bus – A number of bus services stop at Station Street opposite the Stadium including the 688, 689, 691, 781, 793, 795, 797 and 799. Further information is available on the NSW Transport website.

Driving & Parking – Free parking is available at Panthers Penrith Leagues Club, opposite the stadium on Mulgoa Road. Alternatively parking can be found at Penrith Cricket Club off Station Street ($4.00) or Penrith Paceway off Ransley Street ($5.00).

Train – Penrith Station is 1.5 kilometres from the stadium, about a 15 minute walk. There are regular trains from Sydney to Penrith with a journey time of about an hour as well as services across New South Wales. Further information is available on the NSW Transport website.
