The Penrith Stadium (currently known as the BlueBet Stadium for sponsorship reasons) has been the home of the NRL team, the Penrith Panthers since it opened in 1967. The stadium initially featured only one stand on the western side with a stand built on the eastern side in the 1980s. A further renovation occurred in 2006 and today the stadium has a capacity of 22,500 with seating for 8,000 in the grandstand.
The stadium has hosted several Rugby League international test matches including two games at the 2008 Rugby League World Cup, both featuring Samoa. The Penrith Stadium has also hosted football, with the Australia women’s team facing Brazil in a friendly in 2017 (winning 2-1) and Chile in 2018 (losing 3-2).
