Scotland’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification Group

Hampden Park

Scotland have a tricky group to navigate if they are to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, as they are due to meet fellow UEFA Euro 2020 finalists Austria and Denmark. They will also face Israel, which is fast becoming a regular occurrence for the Scots after meeting five times in the last three years – with 2 wins a piece and a draw. They will also play Moldova, who may prove a tough test as they drew 0-0 with Russia last year and only lost 2-1 to France in 2019, as well as the minnows of the Faroe Islands.

Matches will be played as triple headers in March and September, with double headers in October and November 2021. The top team in the group will qualify for the World Cup being held in Qatar in November 2022, with the team finishing second entering the play-offs to be held in March 2022.
