Zimbru Stadium is a football stadium that opened in 2006 as the home of club side Zimbru Chișinău and the Moldovan national football team. The new stadium replaced both team’s former home, Stadionul Republican which was subsequently demolished.
The opening fixture in the 10,400 capacity stadium was a friendly on the 20th May 2006 between Zimbru Chisinau and FC Krylia Sovetov Samara from Russia which finished 1-1. Moldova’s first international was a friendly with Lithuania in August that year, winning 3-2 and they have since played the majority of their matches at Zimbru Stadium.
The Final of the Moldovan Cup is held annually in the stadium.
