Austin Country Club, host of the WGC Match Play

The Austin Country Club was originally founded in 1899 in east Austin, the first of its kind in the state of Texas. However the club moved its current location in 1984.

Following a renovation in 2015, the club began to host the WGC Match Play tournament in 2016. The event is is one of the four annual World Golf Championship events and the only to use the match play format, with winners in Austin including Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson and Kevin Kisner.

Location & Travel to Austin Country Club

Austin Country Club is located approximately 11 miles north west of downtown Austin in the state of Texas.

Airport – Austin–Bergstrom International Airport is the nearest international airport, with flights to over 70 destinations across North America and Europe. The airport is approximately 18 miles from the golf club with a driving time of about 25-30 minutes.

Driving & Parking – From the Capital of Texas Highway (Highway 360) turn East on to Westlake Drive. Take the first left on to Long Champ Drive and the club is at the end. During the tournament public parking costs $10 per day and is available at Toney Burger Activity Center (3200 Jones Road, Austin, TX) and Dillard’s parking garage in the Domain (3201 Feathergrass Ct. Austin, TX), with a free shuttle bus available to travel to the golf club.

The club is private, therefore to play you have to be invited by a member or be recommended for membership by an existing member.
