Headingley Cricket Ground (Leeds)

Home to Yorkshire County Cricket Club, Headingley Cricket Ground shares its main stand with the Headingley Rugby Stadium. The ground has a capacity of 18,350, making it the fifth largest cricket ground in England and Wales.

The Ground had its first Test match in 1899 and has also hosted One Day Internationals, including matches for the 1999 and 2019 Cricket World Cup’s.

Location & Travel to Headingley Cricket Ground

The ground is located in the Leeds suburb of Headingley, approximately 2 miles from the City Centre.

Airport: Leeds Bradford Airport is approximately 7 miles North of Headingley, serving many European destinations. The A1 Flyer bus heading to the city centre stops at Kirkstall Road, approximately a 15 minute walk from the stadium.

Bus: Buses 19/19A and 56 travel from the City Centre to Headingley Stadium.

Coach: Leeds Coach Station is close to the city centre, with buses 19/19A and 56 travelling to the ground. Megabus offers cheap travel to Leeds and offers over 10 routes from Barnstaple, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Exeter, Hull, Liverpool, London and Manchester. Driving & Parking: From the M1 and M62, take the M621 and leave at junction 2 and follow the signposts to the stadium. Parking is available at the Ground on a first come first served basis for £5. There is also on-street parking available around the stadium and for internationals, the ground operates a park and ride from Becketts park.

Train: There are two stations close to the ground on the Harrogate line, travelling between York, Harrogate and Leeds. Burley Park Station is about a 5 minute walk, with Headingley Station approximately a 10 minute walk from the ground. Leeds Train Station is in the city centre, about 2 miles away and serves major destinations such as Birmingham, Bristol, Derby, Exeter, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Plymouth, Reading and Sheffield.
