2021 UCI Road World Championships

The 2021 UCI Road World Championships is the annual world championship of bicycle road racing, consisting of both the road race and individual time trial. Events are competed for by national teams, with the winner of each event being able to wear the prestigious rainbow jersey in races within that category over the next year.
When is the 2021 UCI Road World Championships?
The UCI Road World Championship takes place every year, usually held in September after the Vuelta a España. The 2021 UCI Road World Championship event will be held between the 19th and 26th September 2021.
Where is the 2021 UCI Road World Championships?
The UCI Road World Championships are held in a different city or region each year. The 2021 Championships are to be held in the Flanders region of Belgium, the seventh time the region has hosted the championships. The last being in 2002 when Italy’s Mario Cipollini won the race (see the end of this page). The time trials will depart in Knokke-Heist and finish in the historic city of Bruges (pictured), whilst the road races start in Antwerp and finishing with a circuit in Leuven.
How do I get to the 2021 UCI Road World Championships?
Air: There are two main international airports in Flanders:
- Brussels Airport is the largest and busiest airport in Belgium, with a number of flights across Europe, North America, Asia and Africa.
- The smaller Antwerp International Airport, 6 kilometres south of the city has a limited number of flights to European destinations.
Train – Leuven, Antwerp, Bruges and Knokke-Heist all have railway stations with onwards connections to stations in Brussels, as well as continental Europe.
