2021 Grand National

The 173rd running of the world famous Grand National will take place at Aintree Racecourse on Saturday 10th April 2021, on the third day of the Aintree Festival. The 2019 Grand National was won by Tiger Roll, who became the first back-to-back winner since Red Rum in 1974 (see below) but was unable to run for a third in 2020 as the event was cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Ticket Information for the Grand National

Starting at £30, many of the tickets to the Grand National festival sell out in advance. For further ticket information, click on the official Aintree Racecourse website here.


Travelling to Liverpool

Airport – Liverpool John Lennon Airport is approximately 18 miles away from Aintree and has connections with many UK and international destinations.

From the airport catch the 80A, 86A or 500 bus to Liverpool South Parkway then take a train to Aintree Station.

Train – Aintree Station is directly opposite the station, with regular services from Liverpool Central Station (every 15 minutes or less during racedays). Liverpool Lime Street is the closest mainline station, being just a short walk from Central Station.
