Giro d'Italia

One of professional cycling’s three Grand Tours, the Giro d’Italia is a 3 week long multiple-stage race held every year, primarily in Italy. Britain’s Chris Froome of Team Sky won the 2018 Giro, however won’t be returning to Italy in 2019 to defend the pink jersey.

The 2019 route has been unveiled:

Stage 1 (Saturday 11th May 2019) – Bologna – Bologna (San Luca) (8.2km) – Time Trial

Stage 2 (Sunday 12th May 2019) – Bologna – Fucecchio (200km)

Stage 3 (Monday 13th May 2019) – Vinci – Orbetello (219km)

Stage 4 (Tuesday 14th May 2019) – Orbetello – Frascati (228km)

Stage 5 (Wednesday 15th May 2019) – Frascati – Terracina (140km)

Stage 6 (Thursday 16th May 2019) – Cassino – San Giovanni Rotondo (233km)

Stage 7 (Friday 17th May 2019) – Vasto – L’Aquila (180km)

Stage 8 (Saturday 18th May 2019) – Tortoreto Lido – Pesaro (235km)

Stage 9 (Sunday 19th May 2019) – Riccione – San Marino (RSM) (34.7km) – Time Trial

Stage 10 (Tuesday 21st May 2019) – Ravenna – Modena (147km)

Stage 11 (Wednesday 22nd May 2019) – Carpi – Novi Ligure (206km)

Stage 12 (Thursday 23rd May 2019) – Cuneo – Pinerolo (146km)

Stage 13 (Friday 24th May 2019) – Pinerolo – Ceresole Reale (Lago Serrù) (188km)

Stage 14 (Saturday 25th May 2019) – Saint-Vincent – Courmayeur (Skyway Monte Bianco) (131km)

Stage 15 (Sunday 26th May 2019) – Ivrea – Como (237km)

Stage 16 (Tuesday 28th May 2019) – Lovere – Ponte di Legno (226km)

Stage 17 (Wednesday 29th May 2019) – Commezzadura (Val di Sole) – Anterselva/Antholz (180km)

Stage 18 (Thursday 30th May 2019) – Valdaora/Olang – Santa Maria di Sala (220km)

Stage 19 (Friday 31st May 2019) – Treviso – San Martino di Castrozza (151km)

Stage 20 (Saturday 1st June 2019) – Feltre – Croce d’Aune – Monte Avena (193km)

Stage 21 (Sunday 2nd June 2019) – Verona – Verona (15.6km) – Time Trial
