Having opened in 2010, the Meydan Racecourse is one of the world’s most modern and futuristic horse racing courses. Built to replace Nad Al Sheba, the Racecourse has a 1,750m Dirt track and a 2,400m Turf track. The main focal point is the Meydan Grandstand, at over 1.5 kilometres in length it has seating for 80,000 spectators.
The racecourse features a season of races between October and April, with the Dubai World Cup carnival held on consecutive Thursday’s between January up to Super Saturday in March. The carnival culminates in Dubai World Cup night, featuring the Dubai World Cup which is one of the world’s richest horse races.

Location & Travel to Meydan Racecourse
The Meydan Racecourse is part of Dubai Meydan City, a development approximately 12 kilometres east of downtown Dubai.
Airport – The Dubai International Airport is the primary airport in the UAE, being the hub for the country’s flag carrier – Emirates, as well as the low-cost carrier flydubai. There are over 140 airlines that offer flights to over 270 destinations across all continents of the world from the airport.
The airport is located 18 kilometres from the racecourse, with a taxi journey taking around 20 minutes.

Driving & Parking – From the Sheikh Zayed Road, take the 2nd interchange and turn left onto Al Meydan Road before following the signs to the racecourse. The grandstand at Meydan has covered parking for 8,600 cars.
Metro – The nearest metro station is Al Jafiliya, however it is approximately a 15 minute drive away.

Stable Tour of Meydan Racecourse
Stable tours of Meydan Racecourse are usually available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between October and April (with the exception of Dubai World Cup week). Tours start with a breakfast at The Meydan Hotel at 7am, before touring the facilities from 8am to 11:30am.
