MCH Arena

The MCH Arena was opened in 2004 as the new home of FC Midtjylland, who had only been formed 5 years earlier following a merger between Ikast FS and Herning Fremad.

The stadium was constructed in just 11 months at a cost of DKK 80–85 million. The stadium was officially opened on the 27th March 2004, with FC Midtjylland defeating AB 6-0, including 5 goals by Egyptian striker Mohamed Zidan.

The ground has a total capacity of 11,432, with 7,070 seats. Known as the SAS Arena between 2004 and 2009 after Scandinavian Airlines, the stadium has since reverted to its original name of the MCH Arena (short for MesseCenterHerning) after its owner.
