Bosnia and Herzegovina v Northern Ireland – UEFA Euro 2020 Path B Play-off Semi-final
Having battled bravely in a difficult qualifying group, Northern Ireland must look to secure their qualification for UEFA Euro 2020 in the play-offs by first of all playing away to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The winner of this match will play the Path B Play-off Final at home to either Slovakia or the Republic of Ireland on the 12th November 2020. These sides have only met twice before, during the 2018 UEFA Nations League with Bosnia winning on both occasions – the most recent being a 2-0 loss in Sarajevo in October 2018 (see below).
The Bosnia & Herzegovina v Northern Ireland match was due to be played on the 26th March 2020, however was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic and will now take place on the 8th October 2020. The match venue was also moved to Stadion Grbavica in Sarajevo where the sides last met in 2018, after the original venue of the Bilino Polje Stadium had pitch issues.
