2021 Miami Open

The Miami Open is a tennis tournament that is a Premier Mandatory event on the WTA Tour and is part of the men’s ATP Tour Masters 1000. The event is one of the largest tennis tournaments events in tennis outside of the Grand Slams and features a singles draw size of 96 players.

When is the Miami Open?

The Miami Open is usually held early in the tennis season, being the second event of the “Sunshine Double” after the Indian Wells Masters. Both of these tournaments outside of the Grand Slam events where the main draw lasts beyond 8 days.

The 36th edition of the Miami Open was due to take place between the 23rd March and 5th April 2020 but was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The next Miami Open will therefore take place in 2021, between the 22nd March and 4th April 2021.


Where is the Miami Open?

From 1987 to 2018, the tournament was held at the Crandon Park Tennis Center before it was forced to move when the venue was refused permission for a $50m upgrade.

The Miami Open since 2019 has been played on the site of the Hard Rock Stadium, with 29 courts now permanently located in the south car park and a temporary 13,800 capacity main court situated within the stadium.


How do I get to the Miami Open?

The Hard Rock Stadium is located in Miami Gardens in Florida, a city north of Miami.

Airport: South Florida’s primary airport is Miami International and has a number of flights to the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Western Asia. The airport is located approximately 15 mile south of the Hard Rock Stadium, by taxi the journey will take about 30 minutes.

Parking – There is parking in the vicinity of the stadium for nearly 25,000 cars. Pre-Paid Pass Parking for Miami Dolphins matches is $25, Game Day SunPass is $35 and Game Day Cash Parking is $50. Further parking information is available on the official Hard Rock Stadium website here.

Shuttle Bus – There is express shuttle bus that goes to/from Lot 14, costing $10 per person. The bus has the following drop off locations:Miami/South Beach:
