2021 Birmingham Classic (Edgbaston)

The Birmingham Classic (currently known as the Nature Valley Classic for sponsorship reasons) is a premier level women’s tennis tournament on the WTA Tour. Being one of the key warm-up events for Wimbledon, the tournament takes every year over a week in mid-June.
The 2020 Birmingham Classic was cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic, with the next event now set to take place between Monday 14th June and Saturday 20th June 2021.
Where is the Birmingham Classic?
The Birmingham Classic is commonly referred to as ‘Edgbaston’ due to the tournament being held in the affluent Birmingham surburb of Edgbaston, approximately 3.5 miles away from the City Centre. The event is held at the Edgbaston Priory Club.

How do I get to the Birmingham Classic?
Airport: Birmingham Airport is located approximately 10 miles east of Edgbaston. The Airport serves European destinations, as well as international destinations such as the Caribbean, India, Pakistan, Qatar and the UAE. There is a train station at the airport which connects to central Birmingham.
Bus: If you take buses 47, 61 or 63 from St. Martin’s Queensway (Stop NS3) coming from Birmingham New Street and get off at Sir Harry’s Road, it is just an 8 minute walk to Edgbaston Priory Club.
Coach: Birmingham Coach Station is close to the city centre, approximately 2 miles north of the tennis club. From the Coach station walk to the city centre and catch a bus as above or a taxi.
Driving: There is parking available at the Priory School Car Park, next to the Edgbaston Priory Club. The Car Park is open from 9am and is available on a first come, first served basis to the general public and advanced booking is now available. The costs are £10 per day or £50 for a weekly ticket.
Train: Birmingham New Street Station is the closest station, about 2 miles away. The biggest of Birmingham’s train stations, it serves many destinations across the UK including Bournemouth, Bristol Temple Meads, Cardiff Central, Edinburgh Waverley, Glasgow Central, Leicester, London Euston, Manchester Piccadilly, Newcastle, Nottingham, Oxford, Reading, Sheffield and Southampton Central. From the station take the bus as listed above, or use a taxi.
Birmingham’s other main stations, Moor Street and Snow Hill, are approximately 3 miles away from the ground.
