2020 U.S. Open
The U.S. Open is the third of the four major championships held each year in professional golf. First held in 1895, the event is hosted by the United States Golf Association (USGA). Willie Anderson, Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan and Jack Nicklaus are the most successful players at the U.S. Open, having each won the event four times.
The 2019 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links was won by Gary Woodland, winning his first major by three strokes over Brooks Koepka.
When is the U.S. Open?
The U.S. Open is held annually in June, with final round usually timed to finish on the third Sunday in June which is Father’s Day in the United States.
The 2020 event was originally due to be held between the 18th and 21st June 2020, however was put back to later in the year due to the Coronavirus pandemic and will now take between the 17th and 20th September 2020.
Where is the U.S. Open?
The event is held at a different course in the US each year. The 2020 U.S. Open will be played at the Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York for the sixth time.

How do I get there?
Winged Foot Golf Club is located in the town of Mamaroneck, approximately 30 miles north of New York City.
Air: Nearby New York is served by three major airports – John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and LaGuardia Airport (LGA), all which serve a number of international destinations.
Westchester County Airport is only about 12 miles from the golf club and offers domestic flights to Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando, Palm Beach, Tampa and Washington amongst other destinations.

Driving Directions from New Jersey:
I-95 George Washington Bridge (New England Thruway) to Exit 18A – Fenimore Road. Turn left under bridge approximately 1 mile on Fenimore Road to Winged Foot entrance on right.
Driving Directions from New York City via the Hutchinson River Parkway, North:
Exit 22 (Mamaroneck Road), make a left turn and go approximately 1 1/2 miles to entrance on right.
Driving Directions from Connecticut via I-95:
I-95 South Exit 18A – Mamaroneck, make a right turn to Mamaroneck Avenue – make a right turn onto Hoyt (right before railroad overpass) – at the end make a right onto Fenimore Road – approximately 3⁄4 mile on your right – Winged Foot entrance.
Driving Directions from Connecticut via Merritt Parkway:
Merritt Parkway to Hutchinson River Parkway South to Exit 22 (Mamaroneck Road). Make a left turn and go approximately 1 1/2 miles down the road – the Club is on the right side.
Driving Directions from Westchester Airport:
I-684 South/New York City to Hutchinson River Parkway South to Exit 22 (Mamaroneck Road). Make a left turn and go approximately 1 1/2 miles down the road – the Club is on the right side.
