The Aviation Club Tennis Centre, venue of the Dubai Tennis Championship

The Dubai Tennis Championship (currently known as the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships for sponsorship reasons) is a men’s and women’s professional tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. The event is a men’s ATP Tour 500 tournament and a women’s WTA Premier tournament. It is also known as the Dubai Open and was first held in 1993.

Roger Federer has won a record 8 men’s singles titles, with Justine Henin winning a record 4 women’s singles titles. The 2020 champions were:

When is the Dubai Tennis Championship?

The event is usually held across two weeks in late February, with the women’s event taking place in the first week and the men’s event in the second week.


Where is the Dubai Tennis Championship?

The tournament has been held at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre since it began in 1993. The original venue featured temporary scaffolding, however the new Dubai Tennis Stadium opened in 1996 with a capacity of 5,000.

The Aviation Club Tennis Centre is located in the Garhoud area of Dubai, about 13 kilometres north from downtown Dubai.
