The Arnold Palmer Invitational is a PGA Tour golf tournament that was founded in 1979, although it was a successor to the Florida Citrus Open Invitational that was first held in 1966. Formerly known as the Bay Hill Invitational, the event is just one of several on the PGA Tour with ‘invitational’ status – using a set of criteria to determine entrants rather than the PGA Tour Priority Ranking System.
The current champion is Tyrell Hamilton, winning the 2020 tournament by one stroke over Marc Leishman. Tiger Woods is the most successful player at the event, having won 8 times.
