DESCRIPTION:The 2021 ICC T20 World Cup is an international cricket competition for the Twenty20 format of the game. First held in 2007\, there have been 6 editions of the competition so far. \n\n\n \nThe ICC T20 World Cup was generally held every 2 years\, however with the last competition last held in 2016 there will of been a 5 year gap. The last competition was held in India in 2016\, with the West Indies defeating England in the final by 4 wickets. \n\n\n \nThe next ICC T20 World Cup was due to take place between the 18th October and 15th November 2020 in Australia but was postponed to 2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The 2021 competition was always due to take place and will be held from the 17th October and 14th November 2021. \n\n\n \n\n\n\n \nWhere is the 2021 T20 World Cup?\n\n\n \nThe 2021 ICC T20 World Cup was due to take place in India for the second time (after hosting the 2016 competition)\, however in June 2021 it was moved to the United Arab Emirates due to growing concerns around the Covid-19 pandemic in India. The tournament will be hosted at the following venues: \nUnited Arab Emirates \n\n\n \n\nDubai – Dubai International Cricket Stadium (Capacity – 25\,000)\nSharjah – Sharjah Cricket Stadium (Capacity – 16\,000)\nAbu Dhabi – Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium (Capacity – 20\,000)\nAbu Dhabi – Tolerance Oval\n\nOman \n\n\n \n\nMuscat – Oman Cricket Academy Ground (Capacity – 3\,000)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n\n \nWho is competing in the 2021 T20 World Cup?\n\n\n \nThere are 16 teams due to compete in the 2020 ICC T20 World Cup. India qualified as the original hosts\, with the 9 best teams as of 31st December 2018 in the ICC T20I Championships (who also played in the last edition of the World Twenty20) also set to compete: Afghanistan\, Australia\, Bangladesh\, England\, India\, New Zealand\, Pakistan\, South Africa\, Sri Lanka and West Indies. \n\n\n \nThe remaining 6 places were decided by the 2019 T20 World Cup Qualifier held in the UAE with the following nations qualifying: Ireland\, Namibia\, Netherlands\, Oman\, Papua New Guinea and Scotland. \n\n\n \n\n\n\n \nHow do I get to the 2021 T20 World Cup?\nDubai International Airport is the primary airport in the UAE\, being the hub for the country’s flag carrier – Emirates\, as well as the low-cost carrier flydubai.
